About the course

Our Commissioning Excellence Foundations (CEF) training course focuses on building the fundamentals of commissioning by exploring the key concepts and techniques that enable commissioning excellence. Over the course of 2 full days (or 4 half days when delivered online), we cover foundational commissioning concepts including:

All our courses are run online via Microsoft Teams. We use practical case studies, breakout rooms and virtual whiteboards to create an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Commissioning Excellence Course Summary

Public Services Commissioning Excellence Foundations

Our CEF for Public Service Practitioners course is targeted towards all public service staff involved in commissioning at the regional, state, and national level. This course has been delivered to over 350 public service practitioners in health, mental health, education, communities, and justice at the state government level in Australia and Canada.

We will be delivering our first online CEF for Public Services Course in August.

PHN Commissioning Excellence Foundations

Our CEF for Primary Health Networks (PHNs) course is designed to help PHN staff build a consistently strong level of commissioning capability. The course has been rolled out to more than 2,000 PHN staff from 25 PHNs over the past 7 years, and it has been co-designed and refined through close collaboration with PHNs from across the country.

Learning objectives:

  • Develop consistent understanding of commissioning concepts and terminology
  • Explore the critical commissioning competencies required by PHN staff
  • Localise commissioning concepts in an Australian commissioning context through practical application of techniques
  • Reinforce the strategic role of PHNs to reform health systems
  • Increase confidence to explain the value of commissioning to system partners

AUD$1,560 (ex. GST) per participant. PHNs with more than 5 team members attending will receive a 5% discount.
