This includes working as a medical doctor in an acute care setting, driving the digital transformation of hospitals across Sydney Local Health Districts as a medical analyst and supporting clients as a management consultant across all levels of government. 

Outside of work, Lesh likes to wax lyrical as an amateur slam poet, annoy his neighbours to the maximal as an even more amateur drummer and stay cynical with an interest in the political. He also does F45 to (ha, ha, ha) stay alive (stayin alive).

Sam McLean

Meet Sam, a dynamic leader with 8 years of hands-on experience in health and public sector commissioning roles across Australia and New Zealand at national, regional, and local levels.  Sam is a seasoned commissioner and is widely recognised as a thought leader, offering strategic advice and actionable insights that drive innovation and excellence in system and service-level commissioning.

Sam is a human geographer, and his passion lies in crafting commissioning strategies that prioritise people and places to improve outcomes and equity. Sam is well-versed in pro-equity commissioning practices and implementing them in collaboration with indigenous service providers to create a lasting impact.

Outside work, Sam is a beach-loving bookworm, a fitness enthusiast, a culinary adventurer, and an avid traveler to sunny destinations.

Jake Cronin

Senior Consultant

With over 8 years of experience in primary healthcare, Jake thrives on fostering relationships and driving sustainable change to improve health outcomes. Prior to joining Rebbeck, Jake worked within a general practice and a Primary Health Network. He has supported over 100 primary care teams to elevate their data and digital capabilities. He also coached practice leaders to optimise their business functions and clinical workflows through robust project and change management practices. He is experienced in translating strategy into operation and leading teams to achieve organisational goals.

Jake is passionate about modernising the health system for social equity and environmental sustainability. He has collaborated with public and private sector stakeholders on projects to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health checks, emergency response and preparedness, and integrated chronic disease management.

Jake is a history and anthropology nerd who seeks to explore the world whenever he can and test his language abilities. When grounded at home on a rainy day, he loves using his strategic thinking for competitive fun in strategy games.

Theresa Doueih

Senior Consultant

Theresa graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Science. 

Theresa has worked as a practice manager and receptionist at a health centre for six years. She has experience collaborating with general practitioners, allied health professionals, NDIS providers, and social workers to address client needs and improve outcomes in the healthcare industry. 

Theresa completed two internships during her studies. At Headsafe, she was a research assistant supporting the development of the Nurochek system – a portable device that aims to measure the brain’s electrical activity using EEG. As a biomedical engineer at St. George Hospital, Theresa worked on a range of medical devices and ensured their safety for patient use. 

Outside of work, Theresa enjoys reading fantasy and romance novels, running and Muay Thai training.

Ellen Brinsden

Consultant

Ellen graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, majoring in public health and human biology.

Following graduation, Ellen worked as a project officer at the Western Australian Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA), and gained experience working alongside general practitioners, allied health professionals, and government departments to improve health outcomes. Ellen also completed a Diploma of Leadership and Management whilst at WAPHA.

Ellen is passionate about co-design and ensuring that health services are designed around the lived experiences of the people who use them.

Ellen is currently studying a Master of Media Practice at the University of Sydney and is interested in leveraging this to support improved health communication.

Outside of work, Ellen enjoys being outdoors (camping, hiking, bouldering – anything of that sort), photography, and looking after an exceptionally large collection of house plants.

Joel Marks

Consultant

Joel is a passionate consultant at Rebbeck with a strong background in data and analytics, dedicated to transforming commissioning outcomes. Recently graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering and Commerce, Joel leverages his skills to enhance the delivery of community services, streamline processes, and foster collaboration among stakeholders, ultimately cultivating a more effective public sector system.

Joel combines data-driven insights with strategic project support to deliver impactful results. His ability to analyse quantitative health data and triangulate it with qualitative consultation data has enabled him to provide comprehensive recommendations on future commissioning projects. Madelene Lianos

Madelene (Madi) is an experienced executive assistant with over 18 years in the field, including 15 years at the Sydney Opera House. Throughout her career, she has built a strong foundation in high-level executive support and office management. Madi excels in fast-paced environments, providing exceptional customer service and effectively managing stakeholder relationships. Her strong interpersonal and communication skills enable her to support senior executives in achieving their goals while ensuring smooth operations within the organisation.

 

When she’s not managing busy schedules and deadlines, Madi enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, watching movies and crime shows, cooking, baking, and staying fit at the gym.

James Aker

James is an independent healthcare consultant with over 20 years experience and is recognized for his expertise in delivering programs of transformational change for a range of organisations.

James has led programs with the Department of Health, Health Education England, the NHS Trust Development Authority aiming to improve workforce efficiency.

James has worked at Monitor as a Senior Implementation Manager to assist the NHS in addressing chronic staffing shortages.

Dr Alexander Chye

Alexander is a recent medicine graduate from the University of Sydney

Alexander provides qualitative and quantitative solutions for healthcare and social policy problems.

Whilst studying Alexander has gained significant consulting experience supporting the development of government grants, interviewing clinical stakeholders for pharmaceutical market research and reviewing pricing regulations and applying economic analysis to the health and energy industries.

Simon is an experienced and pragmatic strategy and policy consultant with a focus on delivering outcomes through collaboration and evidence based methodologies​.

Simon has recent experience developing evidence-based guidelines and policies for NSW Health in the fields of Mental Health and Suicide prevention.

Kate is a public health physician and general practitioner with extensive experience in culturally diverse, remote, and resource-constrained settings, both in the developed and developing world. ​

Kate works to ensure NSW health systems are equipped to respond to health emergencies and was particularly crucial in the NSW response to COVID-19.

She consistently provided crucial advice concerning COVID-19 and was involved in the pre-vaccination stage, policy formation stage and clinic responses to outbreaks.
